VAN WERT — You may know Wynonna Judd from her 20 No. 1 hits including “Mama He’s Crazy” and “Grandpa (Tell Me ‘Bout the Good Ole Days),” but now Judd is fronting the band The Big Noise.
The Big Noise, who released its debut full-length album in February 2016 with the help of drummer, producer and Judd’s husband, Cactus Moser.
“Her music is still that soulful country with a little bit of southern rock with some Christian hits too. She just has a little bit of everything, which makes her fun,” said Kylie Owens, marketing director at Niswonger. “Her husband is part of the band as well, which makes it fun too.”
Judd is known for extending that connection and fun out to her audience, as well.
“She’s very interactive and explains the song before she sings it most of the time too, which is cool because people really like to hear the background of songs and it gives it a more personal feel.”
Judd and her mother, Naomi, released their first album in 1984. The Judds released a total of five studio albums and several compilation albums, including an all-time greatest hits in 2017.
Wynonna’s self-titled debut album as a soloist came out in 1992 and she went on to release nine albums through 2010. Throughout her career, she has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide and has received more than 60 industry awards.
Wynonna and The Big Noise will kick off the 2019-20 season for the Niswonger and, although ticket sales are going very well, there is still time to snag a ticket. Niswonger is currently offering the Ladies Rock the NPAC Bundle where tickets are 30% off when bundling with “A Night With Janis Joplin” coming to stage Sept. 28.
