LIMA — Over 30 acts from across an array of genres of music will join forces once again for Lima’s Wreckzfest.
From reggae to punk rock, founder Timothy Cannon said you will find it all in the event’s third year.
“I believe music can divide us or it can bring us all together. You don’t see too many rock and roll or heavy metal fans at a hip hop concert or many hip hop fans at rock and roll,” Cannon said. “It’s a way to bring everyone together and show support for artists mostly from the Lima area that never would have known each other.”
Cannon described the event as a multi-cultural music festival that more genres and cultures continue to be added to. Throughout the two-day event, bands and artists will take the stage to share their music, which will include reggae, hip hop, heavy metal, punk rock, rock and roll, gospel and acoustic.
“Every year, I’ve seen progress and people who talk to each other who would never talk or be around each other,” Cannon said. “I’m thinking this can become something amazing for our community if we keep doing it and get everyone involved from all walks of life and different backgrounds to get to know each other.”
