FINDLAY — For its 20th year, the Flag City BalloonFest will be rolling out several new attractions.
As always, those interested in getting off the ground can sign up for full balloon rides for $250 per person at flagcityballoonfest.com. Rides are available in the mornings and evenings only today through Sunday.
Tickets for the Glow Encounter are also available. All event goers will be able to witness the dusk inflation of the balloons, but this event guarantees front-row access.
“This will be our very first Glow Encounter, but it’s not something that is unheard of for a lot of balloon fests,” said media chair Sarah Foltz. “That’s an opportunity to be as close as possible to see the balloons inflate and glow at dusk.”
Tickets for the encounter are $50 and include four passes to the Glow Encounter area, on-site parking for the entire day and souvenirs and beverages for each pass.
Tethered rides will also be available from 6 to 9 p.m. today and Saturday for $20, no reservations required.
Other new activities will include free Sunrise Yoga sessions at 6 a.m. Saturday and Flag City Stars Talent Search performances from students grades K-12 from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday. Throughout Saturday, for $5 spectators can join the Tiny Art League to paint hot air balloon inspired art on tiny canvases.
Additional events include the Let Your Dreams Take Flight craft show, car and motorcycle show and fireworks. See the full schedule online.
