LIMA — Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2016 inductees Cheap Trick has had Lima fans surrendering since tickets went on sale in April for their mid-week performance at Veterans Memorial Civic Center.
Despite being slated for a Wednesday, Jeremy Martinez, Civic Center Foundation director of development, said ticket sales have been booming.
As of Tuesday, over 900 tickets have already been sold for the 1,770-seat Crouse Performance Hall.
“As soon as we booked Cheap Trick, we were able to let people know through their subscription or a mailer,” Martinez said. “I think that’s how we were able to build on ticket sales early on.”
The band’s set list includes all of its classics, “I Want You to Want Me,” “Surrender,” Dream Police,” “The Flame” and “Dream Police.”
They have also released three albums in the last three years, “Bang Zoom Crazy … Hello,” “We’re All Alright” and “Christmas Christmas.” Just last month, Cheap Trick released the single “The Summer Looks Good on You.”
The band continues to perform almost nightly across the United States, United Kingdom and Canada, proving they are as relevant as ever. They will take stage with ZZ Top in their 50th anniversary tour later this year.
VIP tickets are currently on sale for a meet and greet package, priced at $279, which includes one premium reserved ticket, a pre-show meet and greet, photograph and band gear. The VIP tour package, which includes one premium ticket and band gear, is available for $199.
