VAN WERT — Fewer than 100 tickets remain for Herman’s Hermits starring Peter Noone at the Niswonger Performing Arts Center.
Kylie Owens, director of marketing at Niswonger, said tickets have essentially sold themselves.
“We’re definitely expecting that older generation that grew up in the ’60s. It’s great to hear them, the Noonatics, get so excited,” Owens said. “We had somebody from two hours away ask for tickets. They saw on his website they were going to be here. People come from all over, so that just shows how good of a show he must put on.”
In addition, the Niswonger will also have a light show to accompany the band’s performance, which will include some of their 40 top-4o hits including “Mrs. Brown You’ve Got a Lovely Daughter,” “I’m Henry VIII, I Am” and “I’m into Something Good.”
Noone was just 15 years old when he became the front man for Herman’s Hermits. The band originally formed in 1964 and went on to sell over 60 million recordings where 14 singles and seven albums went gold. Noone went on to pursue his own acting career but has rejoined forces today with Herman’s Hermits to continue bringing its fans, and his Noonatics, the classics.
“There’s going to be an awesome light show with motion lights, something we didn’t have last time he was here (in 2008),” Owens said. “We’re trying to make it extra special with a great singer and band. We want to have the best show possible.”
