VAN WERT — It’s all about apples, fun and shopping at the 32nd annual Van Wert Apple Festival today and Saturday at the Van Wert County Fairgrounds.

The festival provides plenty of activities for the family.

“It’s all free. We have wagon rides on the premises and a cider press and we will be making fresh cider. We have three buildings of crafts, all kinds of crafts and we have a lot of good food stands in the commercial building on the fairgrounds and we have a lot of food stands outside which will provide a lot of good food,” said Greg Ilderton, of the Van Wert County Fruit Growers.

There will be entertainment provided both days as well.

”Ventriloquist Gabe Bailey, that won 2017 America’s Got Talent, will perform Saturday,” said Ilderton.

There will be a 5K run beginning at 8:30 a.m. Saturday and a mile fun run for the kids beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday.

The craft show includes more than 100 vendors from Ohio, Indiana and Michigan.

“There will be fresh caramel corn being made on the grounds, apple cider being pressed, we have pony rides and a petting zoo. We also have kids games and an operating model railroad display,” said Ilderton. “We also have a chair caning gentleman doing chair caning.”
