DELPHOS — The 61st annual Delphos Canal Days started Thursday and runs through Sunday — this year, in a new location.

“Main Street was paved two weeks ago. We decided to move it from Main Street to the former Cintas lot located on Fourth and Main streets,” said Diane Sterling, event coordinator.

While the event has moved, the normal activities will still take place.

“We will still have basket bingo, golf cart poker run and Battle of the Businesses. There’s a lot going on but at a different location,” said Sterling.

There will be entertainment the entire weekend in the social tent located at the Cintas lot as well and food vendors.

The car show, which begins Saturday, will be on Second and Main streets.

“They are hoping to have a huge car show. Elvis is coming for that. There is a lot of space to fill,” said Sterling.

The amusement rides will still be located on Main Street and there are plenty of activities for the kids.

And, as always, there’s the $10,000 grand prize drawing that takes place at the close of the festivities.

“I hope that the weather cooperates and we have a great weekend,” said Sterling.

The money raised from Canal Days will be put back into the community.

“The last couple of years we have helped with the Splash Pad. This year we hope to develop our lot at the former Cintas location. We would like to have a pavilion constructed,” said Sterling.
