LIMA — The Allen County Fair is just around the corner, which means a great variety of food, goods and activities are on the way, too.
Concessions Manager Dar Hollar said there are a lot of new foods to look forward to.
“This year we’ll have Island Noodles,” she says. “It’s a Caribbean, wok-fried noodle with sauce and vegetables. Your dish can be vegan, or you can add a meat like chicken to it.”
Then, there’s always the classic fair food.
“Of course, you’ve got to have a corn dog,” she adds. “It wouldn’t be the fair without those.”
Along with food, there will be plenty of new merchants at the fair with neat products.
“A lot of people tend to think that the merchant’s buildings are only for home improvement,” Hollar said. “But they’re more than just that. This year, we’ll have someone with essential oils and also a beekeeper who’s bringing honey and other honey-derivative products.”
All in all, Hollar believes it will be an exciting fair this year.
“There’s a lot of new things to look forward to, as well as the old comforts,” she said.
