SPENCERVILLE — It’s festival time in Spencerville.

“I’ve been told that people have like family reunions and things during this time. It brings people in from other communities, as it’s really full of people,” said Ida Kay Keller, festival committee chair.

The annual event brings down-home fun to the community starting with garage sales, a 5K, kiddie tractor pulls, festival food, car show, games, carnival rides and entertainment. The night is topped off with one of the area’s largest fireworks displays.

“This year we are doing extra because of it being 25 years,” said Keller.

Money raised during the Summerfest will be put back in to the next year’s Summerfest.

There is one new addition.

“The IMG Marketing Group from Ohio State is bringing in a pod which opens up and features interactive activities and different Ohio State things on display. This will be featured on the lot beside the hardware store,” said Keller.
