ST. MARYS — The St. Marys Chamber of Commerce is offering the public a chance to view five homes decorated for Christmas during its Winter Dreams: A Holiday Tour of Homes. The event is making a comeback after more than 15 years.
Abby Balster, executive director of the St. Marys Chamber of Commerce, first reached out to those homeowners who had participated in the past and built the event from there. The homes are within a three to five mile radius of the city of St. Marys.
“We have two country homes. One is a log cabin, so we’re excited for that one. And there is one just out past that one a little bit and that one is more of a traditional home, and she’s very excited to be part of the tour,” said Balster. “We have Bill Kantner, he was a contractor and so he’s built a lot of homes here in town and is well known, and his house is very unique in the way it is built. He has a circle kitchen, so that’s unique. Then we have two homes that are kind of smack dab downtown St. Marys. They are historical. One is a colonial style with a lot of original woodwork built in 1921 and another house built in 1829.”
