DELPHOS — Delphos is throwing a holiday party this weekend.
This is the fifth year the Delphos Kiwanis Club has hosted the event.
“The entire year the community supports us with all of our events and activities and this is our way of finishing out the year and giving back to the community for all of the support they have given us,” said Cindy Metzger, event chairwoman.
Activities begin at 6 p.m. with face painting, the Canal Museum is open for the Christmas Tree Festival and the library is open for its Dickens Village Display. A 15-minute parade begins at 6:30 p.m. Free horse and wagon rides are available after the parade. Santa will be available in his house, across from the fire department on Second Street, and Mrs. Claus will read Christmas stories at the Dienstberger House.
“We offer the train rides, the mini fire truck rides, the pony rides, the face painting, the hot dogs and hot cocoa. All of those we provide at no charge for anybody. A lot of the businesses then and organizations have jumped in and provided activities and things at no charge as well,” said Metzger.
