FORT LORAMIE — Country music fans will experience nirvana as Country Concert comes for Fort Loramie this weekend, loaded with stars.
Fans will be hearing from new acts as well as seasoned stars. Newer singer 24-year-old Morgan Wallen has been getting a lot of airplay recently with his hit single, “The Way I Talk.” He is currently touring with Florida Georgia Line and Chris Lane. He will be making an appearance at 9 p.m. Saturday at the Saloon Stage at Country Concert in Fort Loramie.
Wallen’s hit “The Way I Talk” lends charm to his smooth southern accent. He’s eager to play at Country Concert to meet the fans and show everyone a good time.
“This is my first real year of touring. It’s starting to get fun for me,” said Wallen. “That song specifically, especially for me just starting out, that’s the song that everybody seems to know, not everybody, but the majority know that song, and they’re starting to know my other songs as well. After a lot of hard work and putting in endless hours and trips and things like that, it really means a lot to me.”
He is happy to be touring, enjoying the interaction with the fans.
“It’s cool to be able to play in front of people and be able to see their excitement and see them and hopefully meet them. I try to meet as many of them as I can,” said Wallen.
Wallen moved to Nashville in July 2015. One wonders what is next for him.
“That’s kind of what I’m trying to figure out right now. With the way music is so accessible these days, I feel like attention spans are a lot shorter. We’re trying to figure out what our best foot to put forward is,” said Wallen. “I moved down here and I expected to work for a long time before getting to this point. Obviously I still have a lot of work left, but it’s been a huge blessing to me to get to this point.”
