LIMA — WAR Wrestling presents War 14 and Hall of Fame induction at 5 p.m. Saturday at the UAW Hall, 1440 Bellefontaine Ave.
This is one of the biggest shows of the year for WAR Wrestling.
“We are looking at fans from 14 different states coming to this show. This is our big, huge show of the year, our anniversary show. We have literally 20 VIP tickets left, and then it’s sold out,” said Thomas Williams, promoter.
Five wrestlers will be inducted into the Wrestling And Respect (WAR) Hall of Fame Class 2017.
“Actually inducting pretty well known wrestlers. Dan ‘The Beast’ Severn who used to be in WWE and also with UFC Mixed Martial Arts and also Fantastic Bobby Fulton who was basically in WWE, WCE over the years,” said Williams.
Also being inducted are Eddie Venom, Alexis Machine and “Beautiful” Brian Fury.
After the hall of fame induction, wrestling will start at 7 p.m.
“The main event is a barbed wire cage match between our champion Jake Something taking on Dark Star Matt Taylor,” said Williams.
The management likes to get the audience involved in the wrestling matches, so there is a “Fans Bring the Weapons Match,” as well.
“Every match has a stipulation. There’s a fans bring the weapons match that night that is for the tag team titles. It is actually a group called Roots versus Badd Company, who are the champions. Basically it’s like a street fight and the fans can bring weapons. We’ve had people talk about bringing bowling balls, whatever. They drop everything into the bins when they come in,” said Williams.
Other matches include the WAR Respect Title, a ladder match, casket match, losers leave WAR match, hair versus company and tar and feather match.
