LIMA — Anyone who knows a toddler, pre-schooler or kindergartner knows “PAW Patrol.” This is a Nickelodeon hit series that kids love.
PAW Patrol Live! “Race to the Rescue” comes to Veterans Memorial Civic Center for two shows one at 10 a.m. and another at 6 p.m. Wednesday, and you can bet every child in your life will be begging to attend.
VStar Entertainment group brings the stage version to the Civic Center, and the kids won’t be disappointed.
“We worked really hard to maintain the show elements and all the characters and set pieces so that there is a smooth transition from what kids recognize on the TV show to the stage adaptation. We worked really closely with Nickelodeon,” said Molly Jackson, performance director. “We even have this giant video wall so that we can pull some graphics from the TV show and present them on the stage.”
The stage version will be interactive with the audience, and getting kids up out of their seats is encouraged.
“There are several moments when we encourage the audience to get up and cheer along with the pups and the cheerleader and they have songs like ‘Pup Pup Boogie.’ The kids get up and dance to that. We encourage them to get up and sing and dance along and get involved,” said Jackson.
As all Nickelodeon shows, PAW Patrol teaches lessons and morals to the children, and the stage version is no different.
“It teaches kids teamwork, which is a big component, working together. Also perseverance and even just creativity in ways that the can problem solve and come together as a group. Really helpful for the kids to learn those values,” said Jackson.
VStar Entertainment will have stands set up for purchasing PAW Patrol merchandise before the show, during intermission and after the show.
