Hours: 4 p.m. to 10 10 p.m. Monday to Thursday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday
Highlights: Hand-cut steaks are cooked to order and you get to throw your peanut shells on the floor! Now it’s a party. Even if you aren’t the yee-hawing sort, the steaks cooked by people who are in the know are worth stopping in for.
2. Old City Prime
Location: 215 S. Main St., Lima
Hours: 11 a.m. With last seating at 9 p.m. Monday to Thursday; 11 a.m. with last seating at 10 p.m. Saturday; closed Sunday. Upper Lounge: 6 p.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday. Upper Lounge ages 21 and older.
Highlights: Old City Prime is a perfectly swanky place for the perfectly cooked steak. Their selection of USDA Prime steaks will have you coming back for more. They’re aged for 21 days and broiled for the optimum taste when prepared.
3. Lock Sixteen
Location: 706 N. Cable Road, Lima; 1950 Bellefontaine Road, Lima
Hours: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday to Thursday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday
Highlights: Originating in Ottoville in 1979, spreading through Van Wert and finally reaching Lima in 2005. Their Cable Road location was first to open, it became a hit so quickly that a second location was added 2013 at Lost Creek Golf Club, which has been relocated to the new east side location. Lock Sixteen has a selection of high quality of steaks — ribeye, filet, prime rib, T-bone and New York steak.
