Local historian to sign books at Daniel Mooney Museum

ST MARYS — The Auglaize County Historical Society announced that the Daniel Mooney Museum will be open for visitors 1 -4 p.m. Sunday at 223 S. Main St. The event will feature a book signing from 1:30-3:30 p.m. for “St. Marys Anthology 2” with Robert Howard. Howard, a graduate, former English teacher and coach at Memorial High School, has written three previous local history books. The museum is free.

Group tour forming to Canadian Rockies, Glacier and Yellowstone

LIMA — GoAhead tour guides Jerry Bunn and Vicki Doty are organizing a tour of the Canadian Rockies, Glacier National Park and Yellowstone National Park, July 27-Aug. 6, 2017. The trip — 11 days, 10 nights — departs from Dayton’s airport and includes breakfast every day and a lunch, five three-course dinners, a tour director, a private motor coach, transportation to and from the airport, all tips, airfare, hotels and selected entrance fees. Good Friday Choir in Carey seeking singers

CAREY — The Good Friday Ecumenical Choir, also known as Adoramus, is looking for members to sing a musical reflection at noon on Good Friday, March 25, in the Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation in Carey. Singers high school age and up are welcome to join. Rehearsals will be held in the choir loft of the Basilica on Sunday afternoons, beginning at 1 p.m. Feb. 14. ‘New Year, New You’ Expo at the Lima Mall

LIMA — The Lima Mall will host an expo, “New Year, New You,” 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today, to support and motivate shoppers on continuing with their 2016 health and wellness resolutions. Participating vendors include those offering fitness and self-defense classes, hypnosis, sleep accessories and supplements. At 10:30 a.m., Gennifer Akroyd of Damsels in Defense will offer a self-defense demonstration. At 3 p.m., Meredith Bond of Pure Movement will conduct a free yoga class.

‘First Tuesday’ Forum events return at Bluffton University

BLUFFTON — Starting in February, Bluffton University’s “First Tuesday” double forums return. From February to April, two Forum lectures will be held from 11 a.m. to noon. On Feb. 2, Kathy DeBoer, Executive Director of the American Volleyball Coaches Association, will present her speech titled “Gender and Competition: Discussing and Dealing with Difference” at 11 a.m. in Yoder Recital Hall. At the same time, Bluffton University senior Margaret Short will discuss her role in the recent Mennonite Church USA convention in a presentation in the Reading Room of Musselman Library.
