Years ago there were “tray-veyors” that would bring the food trays to our patients on each floor. The kitchen would call the floor and tell us to go down to the end of the hallway where the conveyor belt was located and grab our trays off. As we looked down in to the spot in the wall that would bring the meals up to us from the first floor, often our nursing caps would fall down the chute. I am sure that happened at least once a day if our hats were not securely fastened with a hairpin.
