WAYNESFIELD — Helen Alltop is celebrating her 90th birthday with an open house from 1 to 5 p.m. Oct. 24 at the Waynesfield Lions Club, 331 W. Wapakoneta St., Waynesfield. A card shower would be appreciated at PO Box 427, Waynesfield, OH 45896.
She was born Oct. 26, 1930, in Toledo, to Ralph and Daisy Lhamon. In May 1947, she married Merlin Burden, who died in May 1956. In September 1957, she married Leroy Alltop, and they divorced in 1960.
She has four children, Kerry (Sandy) Burden, of Wapakoneta, Mike Burden, of Waynesfield, Robin (Joel) Hamburger, of Lakeview, and Joyce Duncan, of Port Orange, Florida. A son, Greg Burden, is deceased. She has 16 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She retired from Lima State Hospital after 23 years. She is a member of Waynesfield Baptist Church, American Legion Auxiliary, Indian Lake Amvets and Moose Lodge. She enjoys reading, spending time with her family and friends, going to the senior citizens center and being on the go.
