LIMA — Mary Kaye Pease is celebrating her 89th birthday. A card shower would be appreciated at 3073 Elijah Parkway, Lima OH 45805.
She was born Feb. 21, 1929, in Zanesville, to Joseph and Palma Redmond. On June 23, 1951, she married Robert “Bob” Pease, who died Fe. 3, 2009.
She has four children, Kathy (Larry) Koverman, of Cridersville, Debby (Jason) Stanley, of Deshler, Colleen (John) Schleh, of Lima, and Rob (Robin) Pease, of Peyton. She has 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She and her husband served with The Christian and Missionary Alliance for 55 years, starting in pastoral ministries in California, and later serving as missionaries in Mali, West Africa, for 28 years. She speaks four languages — English, French, Bambara, Minyanka — and helped translate the books of Mark, John, Hebrews as well as portions of Psalms and Exodus into Minyanka. She also worked as a music professor at Toccoa Falls College, Georgia, taught piano privately to over 60 students, and was an editorial assistant for the denomination’s magazine, Alliance Life. She served as pianist and music director in Alliance, Baptist, Lutheran and Methodist churches, including St. Paul’s Methodist Church, Elida. She is a member of Cable Road Alliance Church and especially loves getting together with the seniors in the Keenagers group. She enjoys playing the piano and listening to music, traveling, visits with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, reading, a good cup of coffee, staying faithful to Jesus.
