LIMA — Allen “Al” Bodkin is celebrating his 90th birthday. A family celebration will be held on his birthday.
He was born Dec. 24, 1927, in Findlay, to Jean and Agnes (Patterson) Bodkin. On July 23, 1956, he married Marilyn Weaver.
He has four children, Greg Bodkin, of Galion, Kimberly (Larry) Krouse, of Lima, Steve (Leslie) Bodkin, of Westerville, and Doug (Melissa) Bodkin, of Powell. He has 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He worked at the Lima Ordnance Depot and retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 37 1/2 years with the government. He is a member of Lima Community Church. He loved coaching the Scorpion midget football team and winning the Coach’s Best Sportsmanship Award back in the 1960s. He liked attending his children’s activities. He has been a lifetime Cleveland Indians fan and follower of Lima Senior.
