100th birthday: Isobel McCaslin

LIMA — Isobel McCaslin celebrated her 100th birthday with an open house Saturday at Old Barn Out Back.

McCaslin was born Feb. 5, 1916, to Earl Lawrence and Sarah Estella (Battles) McCaslin.

She has 35 nieces and nephews and numerous grand-nieces and -nephews. She is surrogate great-grandmother to Joshua and Noah Gibson.

She is a 1935 graduate of Shawnee High School. She worked with the National Youth Administration, Nesbitt Candy Store, Longmeyer Direct Mail Service, the Allen County Commissioners office, the city welfare department, Foster’s and retired from Superior Metal.

She is involved in Trinity Chapter of Eastern Star, White Shrine, Lima Eagles Aerie 370, the American Red Cross, Helping Hands and the Republican party.
