WAPAKONETA — Mr. and Mrs. Donald Davenport are celebrating 70 years of marriage. A card shower would be appreciated.
Davenport and the former Mary Mitchell were married Sept. 10, 1950, at Trinity Methodist Church, Spencerville.
They are the parents of four children, Linda (David) Hawk, of Berea, Marilyn (Hugh) Core, of Wapakoneta, Richard (Lisa) Davenport, of Trenton, Tennessee, and Roger (Diane) Davenport, of St. Marys. They have 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Davenport retired from a self-owned drainage contracting business and farming. He is retired from playing violin, viola, flute and piccolo in bands and symphonies in the Lima area and Florida. His wife is a registered nurse who graduated from Lima Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and retired from Lima Memorial Hospital and private duty nursing in Florida. She retired from playing clarinet in bands and symphonies in the Lima area and Florida.
