Jane and Laurence Brown

ELIDA — Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Brown are celebrating 60 years of marriage. A family celebration is planned.

Brown and the former Jane Hart were married June 11, 1950, at St. Paul Evangelical United Brethren Church, Findlay, by the Rev. C.D. Osborn.

They are the parents of four children, David A. (Lori) Brown, of Columbus Grove, James R. (Tammie) Brown, of Mechanicsburg, Matthew O. (Kim) Brown, of Shawnee Township, and William C. (Teresa) Brown, of Bluffton. They have eight grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Brown retired in 2000 after 48 years as a warehouseman, foreman and salesman at J.M. Sealt’s Wholesale Grocers. His wife taught for several years at Bluffton schools, also doing substitute teaching and home tutoring. She also served as pastor at Middle Point United Methodist Church and Ridge United Methodist Church.
