Saturday, Oct. 1: 4th annual Veterans Car Show in Lima, noon to 4 p.m., Reineke Ford Lincoln Lima, 1360 Greely Chapel Road, Lima. Show organized by Reineke Family Dealerships and the UAW Local 1219. $10 registration, with the first 50 to pre-register to get a free t-shirt. Open to all makes and models, and motorcycles are welcome. Show will feature dash plaques, a raffle, door prizes, a 50/50 drawing, t-shirts and multiple trophies. All proceeds to benefit the Veterans Food Pantry of Northwest Ohio.

Allen Lima Leadership graduates 33rd class

LIMA — Allen Lima Leadership was started in 1989 with the goal of creating more informed, more engaged community leaders. On Thursday, the program graduated its 33rd class with a celebration at the City Club in downtown Lima.

Tuberculosis found in Allen County

LIMA — Allen County Commissioners have announced known cases of tuberculosis in the area. Tuberculosis is known as a bacterial disease that affects a person’s lungs. The cases of TB are currently being treated and in isolation. The Allen County Health Department has informed and tested every person that was in contact with those affected.

Children Services seeks sponsors for Adopt-A-Family

LIMA — Allen County Children Services is recruiting Adopt-A-Family sponsors for the holidays. The annual program connects sponsors with families to provide children with presents. Due to community support, ACCS has in the past been able to provide gifts to around 200 children.

Teen charged in shooting death to undergo mental evaluation

LIMA — Allen County Juvenile Court Judge Todd Kohlrieser ruled that there is probable cause to continue proceedings in the case of one of the minors allegedly involved in a June home invasion in which a teen boy died.
