Christmas Tree Festival hours announced

LIMA — The Christmas Tree Festival will be Nov. 28-Dec. 2 at the Allen County Museum, 620 W. Market St.

The 46th annual event’s theme is “A Shiny Bright Christmas.” It’s held in partnership with Church Women United in the Lima Area and Johnny Appleseed Metro Park District.

Hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Nov. 28, 29 and Dec. 1; 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Nov. 30; and noon to 5 p.m. Dec. 2.

Allen County Museum Announces 46th Annual Christmas Tree Festival

The Allen County Museum, in partnership with Church Women United in the Lima Area and Johnny Appleseed Metro Park District, will hold the 46th Annual Christmas Tree Festival November 28 through December 2, 2018. This year’s theme is A Shiny Bright Christmas. This year, 103 decorated trees from participating community organizations, school, churches, and individuals will transform the museum into a holiday spectacular. Festival Hours are as follows: Wednesday, November 28 & Thursday, November 29 from 10:00-5:00; Friday, November 30 from 10-8; Saturday, December 1 from 10-5; and Sunday, December 2 from 12-5.

The Christmas Tree Festival will feature the following activities: Evergreen, The Talking Christmas Tree Gifts from the Earth The Bake Shoppe Instant Photos Fingerprint plaques Holiday Boutique Daily demonstrations in the Pioneer Log House Children’s crafts and a display featuring Christmas from the 1950-1975 in the Children’s Discovery Center Live entertainment scheduled throughout each day Little Children’s Shoppe for children in 3rd grade and younger who can purchase gifts for their families on Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday only Wood Carving and Rug Hooking Demonstrations on Saturday and Sunday only Ann Miller will read The Polar Express to children on Sunday afternoon, next to the Shay Locomotive

And visit the decorated MacDonell House free of charge The event was founded in 1972 by the late Helen Mack, whose goal was to provide a traditional holiday event for all members of the community.

The event is held at the Allen County Museum and Historical Society, located at 620 W. Market Street in Lima, Ohio. Parking is available at the museum, with overflow parking available in the St. Rita’s Medical Center parking lot to the immediate north of the Museum, off of High Street.
