LIMA — The Johnny Appleseed Parks will be hosting its Walking Thru Autumn Hiking series at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, at the McLean Teddy Bear Park, 2004 N. Dixie Highway, Lima. Pre-register by calling 419-221-1232.
Hand-made walking sticks are available for purchase at $10. If participants walk in six out of the eight hikes, they are eligible to receive a Metro Parks hiking medallion.
Public welcome to join in for any of the hikes, but will not be eligible for a medallion.

Sept. 30: Lippincott Bird Sanctuary, 3093 Bellefontaine Road, Lima
Oct. 7: Motter Metro Park, 10740 Columbus Grove-Bluffton Road, Bluffton
Oct. 14: Kendrick Woods, 971 N. Defiance Trail, Spencerville
Oct. 21: Heritage Park, 2092 Reed Road, Lima
Oct. 28: Hermon Woodlands, 485 N. Wapak Road, Lima.
