BOTKINS — The Ohio State University Extension is hosting a fertilizer certification program from 2-5 p.m. Aug. 28 at the Palazzo, 309 S. Main St., Botkins. RSVP by Aug. 23 to the Auglaize County Extension office 419-739-6580.
There will be an evening class offered from 6:15-9:15 p.m. Aug. 28 at the Palazoo for those that cannot attend the day session. RSVP is also required by Aug. 23.
In 2014 the Ohio Legislature passed a law requiring individuals that apply fertilizer to 50 or more acres to be certified. The deadline for this certification is Sept. 30. If certification is not received before Sept. 30, an exam must be taken and there may be a fee for future classes.
