LimaIvan Jerome Harris, 50, died at 12:38 a.m. Feb. 13, 2011, at his residence.He was born Dec. 8, 1960, in Lima to Otha and Lucille Morris Harris. His father preceded him in death. His mother survives in Lima. His special and close friends, Angela Marshall, who was his caretaker, survives in Lima, and Lynn Samaroo, of Chicago.Mr. Harris was a self-employed antiques dealer. He had worked at Uptown Antiques and worked closely with Anita Peel at Miami Antiques Mall. He had also worked at Oakwood Prison, Lima, and Superior Metals. He was a member of Eleventh Street Missionary Baptist Church. He was a life member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People and worked with his father who had been president of the NAACP. He had a loving heart and would give his all to everyone. He is now going to be with the Lord, the ultimate giver.Survivors also include a son, Isaac K.J. Harris, of Van Wert; a special son, Alex Kempher, of Van Wert; three special daughters, Shondra White, of Clarksville, Tenn., Shaelene White, of Columbus, and Amber Kempher, of Van Wert; five special grandchildren; three brothers, Elston (Lena) Harris, of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Anthony W. Harris and Preston B. Harris, both of Lima; and two sisters, Katha J. Harris and Pamela S. Harris, both of Lima.He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Oakford H. and Anna Mae Carrington Morris; and paternal grandparents, Otha and Lee-ader Brinkley Harris Sr.Services will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at New Life Christian Ministries. Elder Edward Tibbs will officiate.
