Jacques E. Tanguay

LimaJacques E. Tanguay, 76, of Sun City Center, Fla., formerly of Lima, died May 1, 2011, at his residence.He was born July 23, 1937, in Trois Rivieres, Quebec, to Herve and Marie Tanguay, who preceded him in death. His wife of 51 years, Therese Tanguay, survives.Mr. Tanguay moved to the United States in the late 1960s with his wife and their three sons. He became a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters union Local 776 and worked until his retirement in 1999. He was heavily involved in the local Boy Scouts with all three of his sons and volunteered beyond their involvement achieving a Silver Beaver Award for his contributions.He was a very driven individual and this continued after retirement as he became a volunteer EMT for Sun City Center, Fla., for five years, after spending two years learning Spanish, and coordinated maintenance and landscaping for his subdivision.Survivors include three sons, Jacques Tanguay Jr., Pierre Tanguay and Mike Tanguay; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.At his request, there will be no services.Memorial contributions may be made to LifePath Hospice, 12973 Telecom Parkway, Suite 100, Temple Terrace, FL 33637
