MinsterViola C. Bornhorst, 81, died July 2, 2011, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Minster.She was born Oct. 29, 1929, in St. Patrick to Joseph and Henrietta Alternatt Meyer, who preceded her in death. On Nov. 4, 1950, in St. Patrick, she married Maurice Bornhorst, who survives in Minster.Mrs. Bornhorst was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster. She was a farmer's wife for many years in Egypt, Ohio, and a loving wife, mother and grandmother.Survivors also include 14 children, Mike (Helen) Bornhorst, of Russia; Sandy (Chris) Delzeith, of St. Henry, Jeanne (Tim) Niekamp, of New Bremen, Bill (Deb) Bornhorst, of Egypt, Ohio, Joan (Nick) Sherman, of Minster, Mark (Mary) Bornhorst, of Minster, Dave (Deb) Bornhorst, of Minster, Elaine (Dick) Huber, of Minster, Rose (Rollie) Schmiesing, of Egypt, Ohio, Don (Kim) Bornhorst, of Minster, Paul (Shelly) Bornhorst, of Minster, Maurice (Shelley) Bornhorst, of Fort Loramie, Joe (Ann) Bornhorst, of Minster, and Richard (Molly) Bornhorst, of Minster; 54 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; three siblings, Vernon Meyer, of Fort Loramie, Cleona Wyen, of Minster, and Lawrence (Helen) Meyer, of McCartyville; and a sister-in-law, Phyllis Meyer Poeppelman, of Minster.She was preceded in death by an infant son; a grandchild; two sisters, Wilma Ernst and Irene Schmiesing; two brothers, Kenneth Meyer and John Meyer; and four infant siblings, Mary, Alberta, Carl and Margaret.Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster. The Revs. Rick Nieberding and Larry Wyen will officiate. Burial will be in St. Augustine Cemetery.Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
