Letter: Abandoned houses pose serious risk

First Posted: 11/4/2011

This issue is about run-down houses, the ones that are boarded up, glass shattered around these houses. If they have basements, they sometimes have water in them. Don't you think this is dangerous? It is a deadly environment for children, teenagers and animals. And the people who live beside these boarded-up homes, their property values go down. So if the owners can't take it down, it will cost them more if someone gets hurt. Why can't local governments do anything?Related Stories/Links
