ContinentalFrank Dunifon, 81, died at 10:45 a.m. Oct. 12, 2011, at The Meadows of Kalida in Kalida.He was born Aug. 21, 1930, in Scott to Ezra and Rosie Cotterman Dunifon, who preceded him in death. On Sept. 25, 1965, he married Carol Dotson, who survives in Continental.Mr. Dunifon retired in 1990 from Campbell Soup Co., Napoleon. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8847, New Bavaria, and a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2234, Ottawa, and American Legion Post 541, Continental.Survivors also include six children, Deb (Dave) Booth, of New Bavaria, C. George (Lora) Jorrey, of Bowling Green, Brian (Sue) Jorrey, of Kalida, Carol (Tim) Frysinger, of Vanlue, Monica (Jeff Fitzwater) Paxton, of Continental, and LaDonna (Scott) Wenzinger, of Anniston, Ala.; 24 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Betty Gilmore, of Defiance.He was preceded in death by a daughter, Dawn Dunifon; and two brothers, Marion and James Strawser.Services will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday at Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Oakwood. Pastor Chris Baker will officiate. Burial will be in Monroe Cemetery, Continental, with military rites by VFW Post 8847 and American Legion Post 541.Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday and one hour prior to services Sunday at the funeral home.Memorial contributions may be made to support breast cancer, Putnam County Council on Aging or Crime Victim Services.Condolences may be expressed at
