Zona C. Wyss

Zona C. Wyss, 90, died at 11:10 a.m. Jan. 13, 2011, at Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton.

She was born Dec. 21, 1920, in Ada to Jesse Roy and Caroline M. Clark Spar, who preceded her in death. On Nov. 12, 1937, she married Robert John Wyss, who died Jan. 4, 1978.

Mrs. Wyss was a mother, homemaker and farmer. She was a life member of Sugar Grove United Methodist Church, Ada, and its United Methodist Women and the Sugar Grove Quartet. She had been a volunteer at Lima Memorial Health System for 20 years. She had been a member of the Ada Liberty Rescue Squad.

Survivors include a son, Ronald D. Wyss, of Ada; three daughters, Patricia Ann Wilkerson, of Forest, and Sue Allen and Diane (Steve) Simon, both of Ada; a sister, Beulah Hays, of Ada; and 20 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Richard and Robert W. Wyss; a brother, Floyd Spar; and two sisters, Helen Ludwig and Mary Alice Wintzer.

Services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at Sugar Grove United Methodist Church, Ada. The Rev. Jonathan Hanover and Chaplain Bill Herr will officiate. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada.

Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, and one hour prior to services Monday at the church.
