Doris Marie Kritzler

KENTONDoris Marie Kritzler, 88, died May 28, 2011, at her residence.She was born April 13, 1923, in Dupont to Carl and Alta Wight Wells, who preceded her in death. On Jan. 17, 1948, she married Nelson Kritzler, who survives in Kenton.Mrs. Kritzler was a 1943 graduate of Vaughnville High school and graduated from Ohio State Beauty Academy in Lima. She worked at several beauty shops in Lima. She was a member of Walnut Grove United Methodist Church, where she was active in the WSCS and church choir. She sang with the Gospel Tones trio and the society singers. She was very involved with the baked good department at the Hardin County Fair. She loved arts and crafts and shared her quilts with her grandchildren. She also loved to plant gardens and flowers. She was well-known in Hardin County for her baking, especially her cinnamon rolls and won many blue ribbons.Survivors also include two sons, Bruce N. (Leslie Bogart) Kritzler, of St. Simons Island, Ga., and Douglas W. Kritzler, of Kenton; two daughters, Khristine Kritzler Pickering, of Urbana, and Barbara (Mike) Markley, of Beavercreek; five grandchildren, Mya Guanari, Rachael (Tim) Fulks, David Pickering, and Johnnah and Gabrielle Markley; and a brother, Dr. Kenny Wells, of Indian Shores, Fla.She was preceded in death by a brother, Col. Harold Wells.Memorial service will be held at a later date.Memorial contributions may be made to Walnut Grove United Methodist Church youth group.Arrangements are by Price Funeral Home, Kenton.
