Letter: Affordable housing limited for seniors

First Posted: 12/11/2011

Recently, The Lima News has been printing letters from disgruntled Limaites about the proposed affordable senior housing located at the corner of Spring Street and Jameson Avenue. I can understand their issues with the tax-abatement requests.I have one question for these people. Where are the lower income residents to go and live? With the closing of the Barr to senior, lower-income residents, independent living facilities are extremely limited.I know. The middle- to low-income seniors can all move to Delphos. Affordable senior housing just opened up there. They obviously welcome senior citizens, and Lima wants to be rid of them?
