LimaGary Grant Billings, 74, died Sept. 30, 2011, at his residence, following a three-month illness.He was born Jan. 10, 1937, in Westminster, to Grant G. and Avah A. Maus Billings, who preceded him in death. On Oct. 14, 1956, he married Shirley A. Setty, who survives.Mr. Billings was a 1954 graduate of Harrod High School. He had been a kitchen and bath remodeler and installer for Custom Interiors for 13 years. In 1984, he became self-employed, having never advertised, but by word of mouth. He leaves a legacy of many new friends and his talented workmanship in beautiful kitchens and bathrooms all over the surrounding area. He enjoyed working outdoors with flowers and trees. He especially enjoyed the water sports of boating, skiing and fishing with his family. They spent several vacations in Canada and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. He attended Auglaize Bible Church, Harrod, faithfully and was loved by all who knew him.Survivors also include a son, Gregory K. (Lenora) Billings, of Davison, Mich.; a daughter, Carla (Brian) Vogt, of Travelers Rest, S.C.; five grandchildren, Sarah Beth Vogt, Stephen Vogt, Garrett Billings, Keith Billings and Grant Billings; a brother, Charles (Becky) Billings, of Lecanto, Fla.; and a sister, Gloria Jean (Johnny) Gossard, of Harrod.He was preceded in death by a brother, Roger Billings; and two sisters, Donna Swaney and Patricia Eley.Services will begin at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Auglaize Bible Church, Harrod.
