ChillicotheRichard K. Hart, 81, died unexpectedly at 7:30 a.m. June 20, 2011, at the Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe.He was born July 1, 1929, in Vigo to Charles E. and Clarice V. Burke Hart, who preceded him in death. On Nov. 21, 1954, he married Gwendolyn Mae Williams, who survives.Mr. Hart graduated in 1947 from Centralia High School and received his bachelor's degree in 1951 from Wilmington College and his master's degree in 1963 from Miami University. He was an educator, having taught at Wilmington College, Kings Mills High School, Clarksville Local Schools, Xenia City Schools, Belfast Local Schools and the University of Dayton. He was superintendent of East Clinton Local Schools, Spencerville Local Schools and Allen County Schools. He was a member of the Free & Accepted Mason, Spencerville, a charter member of the High 12 Club, Lima, and a former member of the Ohio Association of School Administrators and the Sabina and Spencerville Lions clubs. He had been an ex officio member of the Allen County Fair Board, a member of the Equity and Adequacy Coalition for School Funding and served on the governing board of the United Church of Christ, Spencerville.Survivors also include a son, Richard (Cathy) Hart Jr., of Minerva; two grandchildren, Emaly and Jennah Hart; a sister, Pauline (Charles) Gerlach, of Kenton; and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Corcoran; and a brother, Charles Hart.Services will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Haller Funeral Home, Chillicothe.
