LimaJulia Mae Dillard, 79, died at 2:32 p.m. Feb. 8, 2011, at St. Rita's Medical Center.She was born June 7, 1931, in Hurtsboro, Ala., to Ed Cobb and Lula Bell Mitchell, who preceded her in death. She was loved and raised by her adoptive parents, Love and Jeanie Owens, who preceded her in death. On Oct. 13, 1949, she married Cullen L. Dillard, who survives in Lima.Mrs. Dillard was a homemaker. She loved having her family around her and her family loved being around her. She accepted Christ as her personal Savior at the age of 13 in Hurtsboro, Ala., by Pastor Owens. She believed that serving the Lord would pay off. She was a faithful member of New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on the Mothers Board and had been a member of the Usher Board and the senior choir.Survivors also include two daughters, Lillie B. Haywood and Julia B. (Carl) Powell, both of Lima; four grandchildren, LaShane (Reese) Relford, Torrick (Charita) Powell, Carlisha (Quinton) Gary and Sean Powell; nine great-grandchildren, T'Ana, Dameer, Darius, T'Asiah, Jayden, JaCari, Chaleese, JaKya and Brielle; seven brothers, Alford (Mary) Marshall, of Middlefield, Conn., Harmon (Margie) Marshall, of Rochester, N.Y., Edward (Elmira) Marshall, of St. Paul, Minn., Frank Marshall, of Chicago, Henry Marshall, of Dallas, Willie Cobb, of Cincinnati, and Jessie (Dorothy) Perkins, of Columbus, Ga.; and eight sisters, Minnie (Clinton) Upshaw, of Lima, Virginia Washington, of Chicago, Mary Green, of Phenix City, Ala., Arleena (James) Thomas, of Columbus, Ga., Pressa Fitts, of Rochester, N.Y., Rosie Forest, of Bay Shore, N.Y., Martha Walker, of Lima, and Mary (Alford) Battle, of Columbus, Ga.She was preceded in death by three sisters, Polly Cobb, Alice Marshall and Nettie Beverly; four brothers, John, Robert Lee and Roosevelt Cobb and Norman Marshall; and a son-in-law, Paul Haywood.Services will begin at 1 p.m. Monday at New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. C.M. Manley will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Jones-Clark Funeral Home, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m.Condolences may be sent to JonesClarkFH@aol.com.
