Fire destroys Delphos home

DELPHOS - The State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause of an early morning fire Wednesday that destroyed a home in Delphos.Platoon Chief Kevin Streets said the Delphos Fire Department was called to 8161 German Road at 3:08 a.m. and were on scene for eight hours. A family of six escaped unharmed, but the house was destroyed. The property was valued at $98,700, according to the Allen County Auditor's website.Streets said the house is rented by Doug and Elena Rahrig, who have four children. The property is owned by neighbors Dave and Barb Odenweller.The Delphos Fire Department was assisted by Fort Jennings and Ottoville fire departments.
