Social workers are dedicated to helping individuals and families with psychological, disability, financial and health problems. They provide advice, counseling, direction and advocacy to assist people through their trauma, including victims of abuse and crime.Crime Victim Services would like to thank all social workers at helping agencies, schools, hospice and long-term care facilities, prisons, hospitals, mental health agencies, crisis centers and homeless shelters for their dedication and compassion to helping others. March is Social Worker Appreciation Month, and we all do make the world a better place.Chasity Tietje is Crime Victim Services Putnam County program supervisor.
