LimaEmmet D. Weaver, 89, died at 4:25 p.m. Dec. 12, 2011, at Lima Memorial Health System.He was born March 8, 1922, in Allen County to George Arthur and Laura Mae Bingham Weaver, who preceded him in death. On June 1, 1946, he married Alfretta J. Baber, who survives.Mr. Weaver retired as a machinist from Standard Oil after 35 years and was a member of the Retirees of Standard Oil. He was an Army Air Corps veteran, serving in World War II. He was proud of being able to serve his country. He enjoyed putting things together. He built the first home he and his wife owned, in which they lived in for 30 years. He built a large family room on their current home. Survivors also include two daughters, Connie J. (Michael) Martin, of Bellefontaine, and Deborah L. (Daniel) Longmeier, of Cridersville; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Forest (LaDonna) Weaver, of Lima; and two sisters, Marian Weaver and Ruth Honert, both of Lima.He was preceded in death by a brother, George Weaver; and a sister, Doris Weaver.Services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Burial will be in Shawnee Cemetery, with military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275.Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.Memorial contributions may be made to the Allen County Humane Society.Condolences may be expressed at www.bayliffandson.com.
