OakwoodLois Colleen Schick, 82, died Feb. 21, 2011, at Parkview Memorial Hospital, Fort Wayne, Ind.She was born Sept. 19, 1928, in Paulding County to Leo and Neva Johnson Jeffery, who preceded her in death. On Nov. 7, 1948, she married Gilbert C. Schick, who survives.Mrs. Schick had been a legal secretary at the law firm of Cook, Hyman, McMaster & Webb and a secretary for Walley Agricultural Services. She had been a 4-H adviser for 25 years. She was a member of Paulding United Methodist Church, Paulding, where she had been director of the children's Sunday school. She was a member of Gideons International Auxiliary, where she served as a chaplain for the Defiance Camp. She was named Mother of the Year for the American Mothers Association.Survivors also include a son, Robert Schick, of Oakwood; three daughters, Gloria (Eugene) Grimes, Ruth Ann (Dana) Bair and Lesa (Dave) Mansfield, all of Oakwood; eight grandchildren, Rob, Bonnie, Andrea, Nicole, Jonathan, Austin, Kylee and Michael; and 12 great-grandchildren, Chase, Tyler, Brendon, Brooklyn, Emma, Jett, Michaela, Josiah, Isaac J., Kenyah, Wes and Jack.He was preceded in death by a son, Bernard Allen Schick; a brother, Robert O. Jeffery; a sister, Wilma Kemler; and a great-grandson, Seth Quigg.Services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Paulding United Methodist Church, Paulding. The Rev. Ben Lowell will officiate.
