Help found in time of need

Toward the end of 2014, my family found themselves in the “interesting” position of dealing with the needs of a family member who had an unexpected medical situation — an amputation. We dealt with a number of local companies in order to get this family member back home from the hospital and in the comfort of their own home. It was a very educational experience for us in dealing with business owners and learning just how little real information and help there is locally in preparing a home for the physical needs of an amputee.

Luke Cross, from Delphos, and Mike Smith, from Lima were the two business owners who really stepped up to assist us and understood what we were dealing with both in physical needs and time limitations. Not only did they put aside their busy schedules to assist us, but they did exceptional work as well. It’s hard to find people who will do the quality work that they did in any situation, but even more so in a real time crunch.

Although the local hospital provided immediate medical care for our family member while in the hospital, they were completely unprepared to proactively assist us with what we needed to do for the day to day living arrangements. Luke and Mike really helped to fill that gap, more than they probably know.
