Bernice Deerhake Gibson

LimaBernice Deerhake Gibson, 93, died at 7:05 p.m. Jan. 25, 2012, at Lima Manor Nursing Home.She was born Jan. 25, 1919, in Bluffton to Albert and Bertha Amstutz Matter, who preceded her in death. On June 14, 1941, she married Robert Deerhake, who died Feb. 5, 1977. In 1982, she married Robert Gibson, and they later divorced.Mrs. Gibson retired from Triplett Corp., Bluffton. She attended church regularly. She liked bingo. She was a 1936 graduate of Bluffton High School. She is now at peace and home with her Savior.Survivors include a son, Don (Lila) Deerhake, of Columbus Grove; three grandchildren, Rachelle (John) Patterson, of Bluffton, Christine Deerhake, of Jackson Center, and Scott (Alina) Deerhake, of Maryville, Tenn.; two great-grandsons, John Patterson Jr. and Jacob Patterson; and two great-great-grandchildren, J.J. Patterson and Alana Patterson.She was preceded in death by a brother, Rolland Matter; and three sisters, Cleora Nique, Fairy Stephens and Ruth Armbrecht.Services will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. The Rev.
