BLUFFTON Lois I. King, 80, died May 21, 2012, in Fort Myers, Fla. She was born July 27, 1931, in Richland Township to Harley and Lavina Burkholder Marquart. On Oct. 11, 1952, she married Paul King at Ebenezer Mennonite Church, Bluffton, and he survives in Bluffton.Mrs. King was the third-ever Bluffton High School homecoming queen (fall of 1948) and a 1949 Bluffton High School graduate. She graduated from Bluffton College. She was a housewife and served many years as secretary of Mennonite Mutual Aid Society, Bluffton, until her retirement. She was a member of First Mennonite Church, Bluffton.Survivors also include two sons, Timothy P. (Dawn) King, of Bluffton, and John E. King, of Florida; and five grandchildren, Harley King, Zachary King, Cody King, Jennifer King and Justin King.She was preceded in death by a son, Bruce M. King; and a sister, Phyllis (Donald) Yaussy.A memorial service will begin at 4 p.m. Sept. 23 at First Mennonite Church, Bluffton. Steven Yoder will officiate. She was cremated.Friends may greet the family following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Bluffton University.
