LIMA — Looking for a treat without the trick? Well look no further than www.limaohio.com, where The Lima News’ latest online contest kicked off.

Just in time for the Halloween fun, The Lima News and Bandido’s of Lima are hosting a Virtual Costume Party.

Participants are being asked to submit photos of themselves to limaohio.com, with on-line voters determining the winner. Judging will take place in five categories: the scariest costume; most unique; the cutest; the funniest; and the overall winner.

A $150 prize will be awarded to the overall winner. Others will get those bragging rights that are just as important, and all winners will also have their photograph displayed in The Lima News.

“Over the years … we have had a number of photo contests and photo features. We are really excited about showcasing Halloween costume photos and actually letting our readers vote on their favorite ones,” said Bill Clinger, marketing director at The Lima News.

People will be allowed to vote one time per day. Voting begins on Nov. 3 and continues until Nov. 10, and winners will be announced the following week.

Photos can be submitted beginning now until the day before voting ends, Nov. 3, but the earlier your photos are submitted and posted on limaohio.com, the more chances you have at receiving votes.

To submit, visit www.limaohio.com, click on the Virtual Halloween Contest logo and follow the steps to upload the photo and enter.

Clinger said he hoped the contest had a lot of participants and urged people to get their costumes on, shoot a picture and begin entering.

“We want everyone to have a lot of fun with this,” Clinger said. “We encourage everyone to post a photo of your kids, your grandkids, your family members and/or friends’ cutest, coolest, or scariest costumes. Then tell everyone to vote online for our Halloween Costume Contest.”
