LIMA — The case against a man accused of slashing another man across the face and stabbing him in the chest was sent to an Allen County grand jury Monday.

Richard Davis, 50, was charged with felonious assault. He was being held in lieu of $100,000 bail. Lima Municipal Court Magistrate Richard Warren ordered the case to a grand jury for consideration on the charges.

Davis was charged in the Nov. 4 stabbing of 58-year-old Thomas Stephens, of Lima. The incident took place Nov. 4 in the north/south alley near the Lima Police Department.

Stephens was slashed in the face and stabbed in the chest but the injuries were not life-threatening. He was out of the hospital, officials said.
