A man was unsuccessful in his attempt to rob a Chase Bank in Lima Wednesday afternoon..
Lima Police Department responded to the bank branch, 121 W. High St., at 12:20 p.m. Wednesday. The attempted robbery was called in by branch manager, Sandy Hofacker, the police report indicated. The robbery attempt happened when a man walked in, approached a teller and demanded money. The teller immediately pushed the alarm, which alerted police of the situation, and the man panicked and ran out of the bank without any money.
Officials said they do not believe the man was carrying any sort of weapon. He was described as a white man, who was wearing a heavy coat with his hood pulled down over his face.
