Howard L. Mosbacker Jr.

Howard L. Mosbacker Jr., 81, died at 6:05 a.m. Feb. 15, 2013, at Lima Memorial Health System.

He was born July 14, 1931, in Cincinnati to Howard Lee and Addie K. Anstead Sr. He married Royce J. Schofield, and she survives in Lima.

Mr. Mosbacker loved to fish and spend time in Florida. He served in the Army during the Korean War. During his 12 years of service, he was a pitcher for the Army Fast Pitch Softball Team. They won the New Mexico State Championship, 4th Army Tournament and the all Europe Championship in Germany. He had been a farmer.

Survivors include two sons, Edward Hammond, of Texas, and Howard Lee (Tina) Mosbacker III, of Washington Court House; three daughters, Debbie (Jeff) Snyder, of Lima, Carla (Frank) Zerbe, of Elida, and Paula (Randy) Frankhouser, of Lima; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ronald Mosbacker, of Lynx.

He was preceded in death by a brother, David Mosbacker; and a sister, Doris Dean.

Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel. The Rev. James Mason will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be given to Putnam County Hospice.
