Wapak tops Elida in girls hoops

ELIDA — Megan Watt had 15 points and Kierston Wilcox and Carly Buzzard scored 10 each as Wapakoneta defeated Elida 64-49 in a girls Western Buckeye League basketball game Thursday night.

Abby Waddle had19 points and Shyah Wheeler (12) and Bailee Kuhn (10) also scored in double digitst for the host Bulldogs.

Ohio Eagles 53,

Temple Christian 33

HARROD — Morgan Callahan led Temple Christian with 16 points.

Lehman Catholic 52, Perry 44

SIDNEY — Courtland Fowler had 12 points and Alanna Sanks scored 11 for Perry.

Allen East 67, Paulding 46

HARROD — Kylie Wyss had 24 points and Carly Clum (15) and Aubri Woods (13) also scored in double digits for Allen East.

Samantha Meggison and Suzanne Reinhart led Paulding with 12 points and teammate Faith Vogel scored 10.

Shawnee 63, Van Wert 48

VAN WERT — DeAsia Smith and Rachel Evans had 20 points each and Maryssa Herschler scored 12 for Shawnee. Meghan Moonshower and Erin Marrow had 14 points each for the host Cougars.

Coldwater 44

COLDWATER — Lexie Hays had 16 points and Jessica Gesie scored 12 for the visiting Blue Jays. Hannah Bruns led the Cavaliers with 13 points.

LIMA — Madison Stolly (18), Natalie Snider (17), Sam Koenig (12), Kayla Verhoff (11) and Sydney Santaguida (10) all scored in double digits for LCC. Jade Clement had 15 points and SydneyMcCluer scored 11 for Columbus Grove.

Crestview 70, Delphos Jefferson 37

DELPHOS — Lindsey Motycka (21), Emily Bauer (16), Mackenzie Riggenbach (14) and Terra Crowle (12) all scored in double digits for Crestview.Brooke Culp and Shelby Koenig led Delphos Jefferson with nine points each.

Minster 61, Marion Local 45

MARIA STEIN — Rosie Westerbeck had 16 points and Lauren Roetgerman, Alexis Wuebker and Logan Arnold scored 10 each for Minster in its win over top-ranked Marion Local.

Lincolnview 51, Bluffton 38

VAN WERT — Julia Thatcher (23), Hannah McCleery (13) and Ashton Bowersock (11) all scored in double digits for Lincolnview.

Leipsic 63, Pandora-Gilboa 23

PANDORA — Maddie Steffan had 21 points for Leipsic. Lindsay Macke led Pandora-Gilboa with 10 points.

Waynesfield-Goshen 46, Riverside 40

WAYNESFIELD — Abby Van Horn had 13 points and Kenzie Jarnagin scored 10 for W-G.

Kalida 37, Ottoville 25

KALIDA — Jackie Gardner had 13 points and Brittany Kahle scored 10 for Kalida. Brooke Mangas led Ottoville with six points.

New Knoxville 42, St. Henry 15

ST. HENRY — Meg Reinke had 14 points for New Knoxville. Cara Brockman led St. Henry with five points.

Versailles 41, Parkway 32

ROCKFORD — Terra Walls led Parkway with six points.

New Bremen 36, Fort Recovery 33

FORT RECOVERY — Alyse Clune had 14 points and Paige Jones scored 10 for New Bremen. Tori Lennartz led Fort Reovery with 11 points.

Hardin Northern 42, Vanlue 30

VANLUE — Holly Wilson led Hardin Northern with 12 points.

Wapak triple duals

WAPAKONETA — Wapak swept Kenton and Coldwater in boys and girls triple dual meets at the Wapak YMCA.

The Wapak boys won 109-42 against Kenton and defeated Coldwater 109-9. The Wapak girls won 93-69 against Kenton and 109-51 over Coldwater. The Kenton boys (88-12) and girls (97-63) topped Coldwater.

In the boys meet, Wapak swept the three relay races and Michael Johnston (200 IM and 100 freestyle) and Charlie Sutton (50 free and 100 backstroke) and Hayden Metzger (100 breaststroke and 500 freestyle) were double individual race winners. The Redskins’ Caleb Schlenker won the 100 butterfly. Caleb Keck of Coldwater won the 200 freestyle.

In the girls meet, Wapak won the 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays, and Kenton won the 400 freestyle relay. Wapakoneta’s Josie Miller won the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly, Kenton’s Ashton Cole won the 200 and 500 freestyles. Wapak’s Haley Kinstle (100 backstroke) and Mya Hager (100 breaststroke) and Kenton’s Mary Lautar (200 IM) and Mo Gray (100 freestyle) were also individual race winners.
